History

WestWind Engineering was founded in 1992 to fill a need for contract services by engineering experts for aerospace companies and the government.

As the company grew and developed, we found our system of identifying and retaining high quality, highly skilled engineers and deploying those resources with maximum flexibility for our clients could be expanded to fulfill personnel needs in other areas as well. Today WestWind serves as a trusted partner to fulfill our customer's staffing needs and satisfy their Woman Owned SDB and 8(a) goals.

Leadership

CARL D. GRAVES, Ph.D., Chairman

Dr. Graves is the founder and a principal of WestWind Engineering, Inc. He founded his company in 1992 after a long and distinguished career at TRW, now Northrop-Grumman. Dr. Graves worked for TRW for 34 years. At his retirement he was manager of Advanced Systems for the development of scientific and application space missions, and during his career he was Project Manager for a number of space development programs and Principle Investigator on several scientific satellite programs.

Prior to joining TRW, Dr. Graves worked at the University of Michigan's Willow Run Laboratories on radar and missile defense systems. Dr. Graves received his Bachelor's degree in Physics and his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Michigan. He completed his research and Doctoral Thesis under Nobel Laureate Professor Donald Glaser. Dr. Graves is a contributor to two books and the author of numerous scientific papers.

MARY ANNE GRAVES, President and CEO

Ms. Graves graduated from Loyola University with a degree in Communications. After working in financial services for a number of years, she joined WestWind to work with her father and make it a true family business. After becoming President, she helped position the company for new opportunities as an SBA certified 8(a) and HUBZone small business, and solidified WestWind's relationships with top engineering, scientific and technology contractors. In her current role as President and CEO she oversees new business acquisition and operations while keeping the company true to its founding principles of providing exceptional customer service and top quality talent.

JAMES GRAVES, CFO

Jim joined WestWind after several years working in account management for a large business services company in their government contracts sector, and then overseeing operations for an education and training organization in Southern California. His background in sales, operations and financial management helps enable WestWind to service and manage its contracts and customers more effectively and cost-efficiently. Jim has a degree in Business Administration.
